The Rifugio Sapienza is the main access point for exploring Mount Etna's southern slope and serves as the starting point for the Etna cable car. Located at an altitude of approximately 1,910 meters, it offers a range of services to enhance your visit.
The Etna Cable Car ("Funivia dell?Etna") is the easiest and most scenic way to explore Mount Etna, allowing you to comfortably ascend to an altitude of approximately 2,500 meters.
The cable car station is located at Rifugio Sapienza (1,920 meters elevation) on the southern slope of Mount Etna. Easily reachable by car via Provincial Road SP92 from Nicolosi.

Driving into the center of Taormina is not permitted for non-residents. You will need to park your car in a designated parking area and continue on foot or by shuttle.
